Digiwork Hub aims to provide a seamless internal chat and meeting platform for over 1,000 employees. However, several challenges stood in the way of achieving this goal:
– Scalability for users: Supporting real-time communication for 1,000+ simultaneous users across direct messages, group chats, and meeting rooms, while ensuring low latency and high availability.
– Security within internal network: Ensuring stringent security protocols for all communications and data exchange within the internal network, protecting sensitive company information from unauthorized access.
– User experience and interface design: Creating an intuitive, user-friendly interface that encourages adoption and facilitates efficient communication and collaboration for a diverse employee base.
Solutions
To ensure that Digiwork Hub reached its aim, Hola Tech adhered to the best practices. Key components of the solution included:
– Robust and scalable backend: Leveraging NodeJS and MentorJS allowed for the development of a high-performance and scalable backend capable of handling real-time communication for over 1,000 simultaneous users. MongoDB provided a flexible and efficient database solution for managing vast amounts of chat history, user profiles, and meeting data, ensuring low latency and high availability.
– Secure infrastructure: AWS services were utilized to establish a secure and compliant internal network. This involved implementing Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), strict access control lists (ACLs), and data encryption at rest and in transit to protect sensitive company information exchanged within the platform.
– Intuitive and user-friendly front-end: ReactJS was employed to build a dynamic, responsive, and intuitive user interface for the chat and meeting platform. This design focused on ease of use, clear navigation, and efficient communication tools to encourage widespread adoption and facilitate seamless collaboration among diverse employee groups.
